Job Title

A supportive and passionate individual is sought to join our Community Alcohol and Drug Service as a Peer Support Worker. In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team that celebrates successes and supports challenges.

About the Role

This position involves working with clients who are accessing the Goldfields Community Alcohol and Drug Service. As a Peer Support Worker, you will act as a first point of contact for clients and work alongside participants and counselors to identify goals important to them.

You will support participants in connecting with their community, facilitate support groups, and maintain records of service delivery using an online client management system.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Personal experience of recovery from addiction
  • Lived experience of living free from problematic drug and alcohol use for a significant period
  • Ability to reflect on your recovery journey and identify strategies used and changes made
  • Good communication and IT skills
  • Understanding of the local health system and referral pathways

You must be willing to promote, participate in, and contribute to a supportive team environment. Collaboration with community members and health professionals is essential.
