About the Role:

As a Lead Technician, you will work closely with the Workshop Supervisor to lead and guide employees in performing their tasks safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with the company's Environmental Policy, Quality Assurance System, and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
  • Motivating and leading the team to maximize labour output while meeting standard repair times.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in adherence to quality procedures, minimizing rework.
  • Setting up job tasks, issuing appropriate documentation, and work instructions to the workshop floor.
  • Assisting in dealing with sub-contractors to ensure the best turnaround times and quality of work.
  • Assisting technicians in documenting and using SWP & JHA's.
  • Administering job cards and timesheets, ensuring they are up to date and completed daily.
  • Adapting procedures for testing and diagnosing equipment faults when manufacturer guidelines are insufficient.

Requirements:

  • Embracing and driving the HCA Safety Culture.
  • Previous experience leading a team to achieve and exceed set goals.
  • Holding relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) diesel or mobile plant trade qualifications.
  • Good communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships.
  • The ability to navigate complex technical issues to deliver high quality outcomes in repair and maintenance services with minimal to zero rework.
