About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our front-end services for children and youth in the Mental Health Division at Austin Health.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical governance and leadership to our services, working closely with general Consultation Psychiatrist Liaison services and the Emergency Department.

You will have a strong interest in access, frontline assessment, and Liaison Psychiatry settings, and a commitment to high-quality patient care and teamwork.

We are looking for a candidate with a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification, and a Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • A strong background in Youth Psychiatry, with experience in working with young people aged 12-25 years
  • An interest in teaching, training, and research
  • A commitment to working as a team member with peer medical, junior medical, nursing, and other clinical staff to provide efficient, safe, and quality care across the continuum
