Job Overview

This role involves providing expert guidance on employee relations, interpreting employment laws and regulations, supporting workforce planning and development, contributing to organisational design and change initiatives, leading HR governance and strategy, promoting a positive workplace culture and driving talent acquisition and retention strategies.

The Project

The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of a plant with first production in 2028. Key aspects include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Employee Relations: Provide expert guidance, conduct investigations, draft reports and manage exits effectively.
  2. Employment Legislation: Interpret and apply employment laws, offer advice on leave entitlements, superannuation and earnings.
  3. Workforce Planning: Identify skill gaps, advise on capability needs and analyse data to inform strategic decisions.
  4. Organisational Design: Assess the impact of changes on business operations and recommend improvements.
  5. HR Governance: Ensure job roles, capabilities and salary structures align with organisational goals and objectives.
  6. Culture and Inclusion: Embed diversity initiatives, manage ethical decision-making and support branding strategies.
  7. Talent Acquisition: Source candidates, advise on hiring processes and develop competitive compensation packages.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in an HR leadership role within a construction or heavy industry environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and team management skills, with ability to influence change across all levels of project leadership and operational staff.
  • Highly proficient in employment law, regulations and best practices in HR, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
