Hardware Coordinator Role

The role of a Hardware Coordinator involves overseeing the day-to-day operations across multiple data centres for a leading Australian retailer.

This hands-on position is pivotal in managing hardware installations, moves, changes, and removals, while ensuring optimal equipment performance, process efficiency, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate hardware activities including installation, de-installation, relocation, modification, and decommissioning of IT, Security, and Networking equipment.
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve equipment performance, data centre environments, and procedural adherence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, site diagrams, and reports to support problem/change identification and resolution.
  • Collaborate with support teams and skill groups to ensure seamless delivery of hardware coordination activities.
  • Provide 24/7 support through shared on-call arrangements.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
Must-Have Skills / Tools:
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Experience with networking hardware and cabling standards.
  • Familiarity with data centre facilities and environmental monitoring tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Project, and Word.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and participate in on-call rotations.
Critical Experience:
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing hardware and infrastructure within data centre environments.
  • Proven ability to liaise across multiple teams and manage service delivery standards.
  • Able to maintain compliance, procedural accuracy, and operational efficiency.
