Data Centre Engineering Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced technician to join our team as a Data Centre Engineering Operations Specialist.
- Main Responsibilities:
- To review the management of both routine and corrective maintenance on critical systems such as switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
- To establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses & prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations & maintenance.
- To assist with the design, implementation, commissioning and build out of new facilities.
- To develop and implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
- To manage the facility assets and the provision of infrastructure & inventory asset management.
- To oversee the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed, is observing established practices, procedures & local legislation.
- To collaborate with other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimise plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.
This role requires strong technical knowledge and skills in electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a degree or technical certification in Mechanical/HVAC/Electrical engineering or experience at technician level in a critical environment. They will also have 2+ years of maintenance experience on mechanical or electrical equipment and experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a mission critical environment (i.e. Data Centre, telecom, etc.).
Key Requirements- Techincal Qualifications:
- Degree or technical certification (Military or Trade school), with Mechanical/HVAC/Electrical engineering or experience at technician level in a critical environment
- Maintenance Experience:
- 2+ years of maintenance experience on mechanical or electrical equipment
- Operational Experience:
- Experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a mission critical environment (i.e. Data Centre, telecom, etc.)
This role requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
