The Governance Manager plays a vital role in maintaining and strengthening governance and accountability arrangements within the Member Domain.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, this professional contributes to achieving the Member Domain's ambition to build a world-class domestic member services business while elevating risk management and exploring opportunities as they present.
- Manage policy ecosystem reviews, supporting lifecycle management and continuous improvement of governance artefacts (frameworks, policies, standards)
- Provide strategic governance input on papers using RAPID tool for key decision-making forums, supporting timely decision making by authorised delegates, and ensuring compliance with frameworks, policies and standards
- Support 'reasonable steps' under FAR in the Member Domain, including regular assessments
- Offer governance expertise on regulatory responses regarding decision-making and reasonable steps
- Collaborate with stakeholders across AustralianSuper, promoting good governance and decision-making practices
- Advocate for best practices in governance by communicating effectively, identifying opportunities to strengthen existing business practices, and staying informed about industry trends
- Proven experience in corporate governance, preferably in financial services or highly regulated environments
- Tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, law, business, accounting, or risk governance
- Ability to understand and translate regulatory requirements into actionable business outcomes
- Influence skills, including with senior leaders, to align requirements while delivering commercial priorities
- Expertise in understanding, interpreting, and applying corporate policy, legislation, and regulatory requirements
- Curious and enquiring mindset with ability to provide constructive challenge
- Sophisticated written and oral communication/interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and finalise outcomes
- Strong analytical and research skills, along with attention to detail
