Visual Effects Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Roto/Paint Artist to lead our paint/roto team and act as a liaison between Production and the crew.

  • This role involves assisting the Producer, CG Supervisors & Production Managers with bidding and scheduling.
  • The ideal candidate will attend Dailies and follow up with the team regarding their notes, fixes, etc.
  • They will also attend Production meetings, assign shots to appropriate artists, provide clear direction and priorities to the crew, and monitor shot and sequence progress.
  • A motivated and empowered crew is essential for meeting deadlines, so we need someone who can identify problems and effectively implement solutions.
  • The Roto/Paint Artist will also be responsible for quality control on elements delivered to compositors and fast and efficient paint/roto on complex shots as needed or time allows.
  • Furthermore, they will interview and review potential candidates when required and mentor less experienced artists.

Required Skills:

  • The successful candidate must have at least 4+ years of experience working on feature film VFX, including Nuke experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities are essential, as well as strong communication skills with artist, supervisors, and managers.
  • Strong time management in delivering shots and solid organizational skills for priority shot task requests are also necessary.
  • A team player who takes direction well, dependable under pressure, and attention to detail are key characteristics of this role.
