  • A deep understanding of blueprints and instructions is crucial for determining the type and amount of work necessary.
  • Preparation of work sites, including scaffolding and covering fixtures, is essential for a safe working environment.
  • The ability to complete works to specifications is vital for achieving high-quality results.
  • Correct mixing ratios of two-part paint coatings must be adhered to ensure optimal performance.
  • Selection of paints, varnishes, and stains for various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers requires a high degree of skill and knowledge.
  • Wet Film Thickness Gauges must be understood and used correctly to achieve specified dry film thickness.
  • Maintenance of equipment and work areas is a critical aspect of the job.
  • Supporting other team members to ensure projects are completed on-time and to specification is an essential part of the role.

Applicants must possess a Trade Certificate - Certificate III in Surface Preparation or equivalent (for Blaster/Painters) as well as a High Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift.

Trade Qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other trade certs) are also highly valued. HR licence, high risk licence with EWP and Forklift, Drivers Licence (MR or HR class), and strong communication skills are key attributes for success in this role.
