About the Role:

This role involves the application of paints, varnishes, and wallpapers to protect and decorate surfaces of buildings and structures.

  • Applying paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and sprays is a key responsibility.
  • Selecting and preparing paints to required colors by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives requires strong knowledge of materials science.
  • Erecting scaffolding and ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering is essential for safety.
  • Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns, and trimming edges requires attention to detail.
  • Repairing windows and replacing glass in wooden and metal frames is a critical task.
  • Laying and repairing wall and floor tiles is another significant responsibility.
  • Cleaning equipment and work areas is an ongoing process.

Key Skills:

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of epoxy 2-pack floor paint, including drying time and spread rate. They will also be able to remove previous paint using sandblasting, scraping, sanding, hydro-blasting, and steam-cleaning.


Additional Responsibilities:

This role includes fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, smoothing and sealing surfaces, reading blueprints and drawings, operating and maintaining high-pressure low-volume spray machines, and operating and maintaining various power and manual tools.
