Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Housing Capital Projects and New Build Specialist to support the delivery of our Housing Capital Investment Programme, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful project outcomes.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically knowledgeable individual to join our team and contribute to the implementation of our SHQS targets. As a Housing Capital Projects and New Build Specialist, you will provide technical assistance and support to project managers in the development and delivery of projects, including conducting pre and post inspections, providing technical support, and managing allocated budgets.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to project managers in the development and delivery of projects, including conducting pre and post inspections, providing technical support, and managing allocated budgets.
  • Support the Project Manager with performance management and quality assurance of project implementation and delivery.
  • Engage with tenants, owner-occupiers, and other customers to assess the technical aspects of small refurbishment, improvement, and energy efficiency projects.
  • Work closely with other services within Housing, including Occupational Health, and liaise with other Council services, utilities, and external agencies.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must hold an HNC or equivalent in a property, surveying, or construction industry discipline or equivalent, and have a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in a construction field. You should also have strong IT skills, including experience with databases and spreadsheet design.
