About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia seeks a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join its Infrastructure Division.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, designing, and developing Capital Works projects within the Department.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing valuable advice and support to the Principal Project Officer
  • Participating in meetings with stakeholders and delivering effective and accurate reporting
  • Supporting schools in identifying and assessing their building and related needs
  • Compiling equitable programs for the provision of capital works and facilities management

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated substantial skills and experience in project management, including the ability to deliver agreed outcomes within specified timeframes
  • Demonstrated highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare quality reports and briefings and to deliver presentations to a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to provide innovative input into strategic planning and the development and implementation of key projects and policies
  • Demonstrated highly developed research and investigation skills
  • Demonstrated highly developed ability to be flexible and organised and to provide an effective consultancy service within budget in a customer-focussed manner and to work collaboratively in a team

Eligibility

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment

  • Hold a current Western Australia 'C' Class drivers licence
