Job Title: Product Innovation Specialist


About the Role:
  • We are seeking a skilled Product Innovation Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to progress, monitor and report on assigned process design projects.
  • Key responsibilities include reviewing and optimizing current operations to reduce costs, improve safety and quality.
  • You will assess the impact of new equipment, raw materials, methods of manufacture, packaging etc.
  • Support commissioning of new equipment and set up reprocessing materials and products as required.
  • Review current operations with a view to optimize, improve efficiency and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Liaison with planning, purchasing, stock control, production and QC for arranging factory trials.
  • Carry out product design work as required.

About You:
  • You will have a hands-on approach to work and demonstrate a passion for the industry with an enthusiasm to learn.
  • A natural aptitude for problem solving and first-class ability for planning, organizing and communicating are essential.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • A science degree in Food Processing/ Food Science/ Food Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other relevant science subjects is preferred.
  • Proven experience in sauce formulation and UHT processing is essential.
  • Prior experience in product development and R&D within the food industry is also required.
  • Knowledge of raw materials/ food systems/ lab equipment / kitchen environment is necessary.
  • Knowledge and understanding of materials, statistical techniques and testing procedures are key.
  • Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness are also essential.
