Job Overview:

The Industry and Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in managing Australian Industry Capability and supply chain activities within Defence systems; collaborating across the company, suppliers to deliver outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the supply chain strategy, cognizant of changes to the Operating Support Intent and budget provisions;
  • Develop, deploy, and provide guidance in relation to supply chain governance arrangements, including effective supplier due diligence, supplier performance management, supplier relationship management and implementation of supply chain business systems, ensuring alignment with requirements;
  • Develop, maintain, analyse, and advise on supply chain metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives, cost-effective outcomes, financial savings, and productivity improvements;
  • Management of the AIC obligations, specifically: Market testing activities;
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including Enterprise partners, suppliers, state government defence departments, and industry groups;
  • Act as a point of contact for general industry enquiries relating to life cycle management; and
  • Identify opportunities to increase indigenous-owned and veteran-owned businesses in the supply chain.

Requirements:

Requires a University Degree in Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience); Minimum 8 years prior relevant experience (when a university degree is held); Expert knowledge of Australian industry and government with established networks.
