About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Principal to join our New Glenn Business Unit at Blue Origin. As a key member of our finance leadership team, you will be responsible for providing critical analysis and insight, driving performance improvement and predictability, and leading the financial leadership of customer programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Vice President of Customer Programs as a business partner and advisor to execute external contracts and support new business initiatives.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information and recommendations to support business execution, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide relevant insights to Product Line leadership, including financial analysis, trend identification, and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver product line financial commitments, business plans, and investment returns to support program execution and decision-making.
  • Set-up the cost and reporting structure to support program execution while ensuring effective financial controls, including financial reporting, accounting, and compliance.
  • Partner with Accounting to evaluate and document revenue recognition requirements and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyze and minimize variances in the financial performance of programs, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Blue Origin Finance community on the set-up and execution of external contracts and customers, including USG.
  • Support customer proposals and provide analysis/modeling of new business opportunities and related requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Finance Business Partner supporting external programs in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills, with expertise in Excel financial modeling and financial analysis.
  • Experience using ERP tools, financial and operational databases, and accounting software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, with 12+ years of professional finance experience, including in R&D and manufacturing.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in Research & Development and Manufacturing.
  • Experience with Deltek, Coupa, and Planful software tools.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $151,109-$211,552 for on-site WA applicants and $143,086-$200,320 for on-site CO applicants. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
