Administration Officer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Administration Officer to join our team and support patient flow and administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement the Model of Care, focusing on efficient medical reception and service delivery.
  • Maintain effective use of clinic calendars to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Handle GP referrals and contribute to recall function adherence to ATSICHS Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure accurate handling of patient correspondence in accordance with ATSICHS Privacy Policy and Procedures.
  • Prioritize continuous quality improvement, conducting annual reviews for efficiency.
  • Contribute to Medical Service Billing accuracy, adhering to ATSICHS Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Availability to work across various shifts, including weekends.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities, respecting their culture and practices.
  • Previous experience in administration or service coordination is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with electronic Patient Management Systems (e.g., MMEx) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS), Medicare system, and Practice Incentive Programs (PIP) is beneficial.
  • Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and independent working skills.
  • Interpersonal and problem-solving communication skills with a focus on client outcomes.
