Technical Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of technology with a renowned Defence organisation in Australia.

We are seeking a skilled Technical Officer who is passionate about making valuable contributions to the Australian Defence Industry.

  • Create basic architectural designs for electronic/electrical equipment that meet specific requirements.
  • Conduct standard functional analysis to assess the strengths and weaknesses of various potential electronic/electrical equipment solutions.
  • Create detailed designs for electronic/electrical equipment based on an established hardware architectural design.
  • Translate the electronic/electrical equipment design into a manufacturable solution and incorporate necessary changes.
  • Manage the engineering aspects of product manufacture, specifically related to hardware implementation.
  • Carry out the integration and validation of the electronic/electrical equipment design.

You will also independently perform tasks, such as:

  • Conducting routine maintenance.
  • Carrying out corrective maintenance.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • Overseeing junior staff members.
  • Certifying maintenance activities.
  • Assembling commissioning aids and cable forms.
  • Assisting in component selection and material procurement.
  • Conducting acceptance testing.
  • Diagnosing faults.
  • Managing and controlling inventory.
Requirements
  • Possession of an advanced diploma or associate diploma in electronic and/or electrical engineering.
  • Experience in developing electronic/electrical equipment designs and participating in design reviews.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to work in a project team setting.
  • Highly self-motivated with a proactive attitude towards advancing assigned tasks.
  • Evidenced proficiency in problem-solving abilities.

Australian citizenship is required, and applicants must hold either an NV1 Security clearance or be eligible to obtain NV1 Clearance.

This role offers the opportunity to participate in a 9-day fortnight arrangement, providing enhanced work-life balance and flexibility.
