The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing our Health and Safety Management System. You will work closely with our Health and Safety Manager to ensure the wellbeing of our employees and protect the interests of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a Health and Safety Management System that aligns with ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments on new processes, facilities, and materials to identify potential hazards.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Health and Safety Management System.
  • Develop and deliver Health and Safety training programs to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Implement a program to mitigate illness and injury risks, including support for return to work programs and injury management.
  • Engage and influence key stakeholders to drive a Health and Safety culture within the organization.
  • Support, coach, and mentor leaders to drive accountability for Health and Safety performance.
  • Foster a culture of reporting Health and Safety adverse events, including incidents, injuries, near misses, and hazards.
  • Ensure effective incident investigation and root cause analysis is conducted.
  • Develop and maintain our reputation for excellence in Health and Safety.

About You

  • You have experience in automotive manufacturing or a similar industry.
  • You have the capability to influence positive Health and Safety outcomes.
  • You have a thorough understanding of Health and Safety regulatory requirements.
  • You have the ability to document and implement Health and Safety plans, processes, and programs.
  • You have tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or ISO 45001 experience.
