Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Environment professional to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring our major and minor capital works projects are delivered safely, sustainably, and in full compliance with regulatory and aviation standards.
Job RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, WHS, or a related discipline (minimum Diploma level)
- In-depth knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Environmental Protection Act, PFAS NEMP, and relevant codes of practice
- Proven technical capability in areas such as PFAS contamination, soil classification, water quality, and waste tracking
- Experience managing high-risk construction activities, such as confined space, working at heights, plant operation, and hot works
- Familiarity with airport environments or similarly regulated operational settings (desirable but not essential)
You will also have:
- A strong understanding of risk management principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
This is a permanent full-time role based at Gold Coast Airport. You will have the opportunity to work on a mix of large-scale capital programs and smaller infrastructure projects across the airport precinct.
