Job Description

The Laboratory Technical Officer plays a vital role in providing safe, effective and comprehensive technical support services to Academic Staff, Researchers and Students.

This includes contributing to the continuous improvement and growth of the school through high-performance management of specialist technical facilities, teaching spaces, resources and equipment, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that align with the University's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the daily operations of specialist technical facilities, teaching spaces, resources and equipment in accordance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Maximise teaching, learning and research opportunities and optimise the use of valuable resources.
  • Provide supervision to students at a specialised discipline level.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering is desirable.

At least 3-4 years of subsequent work experience in specialist technical facilities in a college/university environment is required.

Registration with Engineers Australia is preferred.
