Leadership Opportunity in Fund Accounting

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as the Head of Fund Accounting. This is a chance to be part of a large-scale transformation within our Superannuation business unit.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide technical and functional direction to the fund accounting team, ensuring they deliver high-quality services to clients while meeting Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets and related statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the fund accounting team, guiding them to achieve quality service delivery to clients
  • Oversee the delivery of fund accounting services, including unit pricing, financial statement preparation, and reporting
  • Evaluate the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of fund accounting services
  • Manage internal and external risk & control environment, implementing scalable improvements to fund accounting services
  • Identify people, process, and quality improvements to lower cost to serve
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient handoffs and effective service interactions
  • Engage with external service providers, including auditors
  • Assess the financial performance of the team and contribute to the Operations team's overall financial performance
  • Participate in the leadership team

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in leading teams in a fund administration environment or similar industry
  • Formal qualifications in accounting (e.g., CPA, CA)
  • In-depth knowledge of investment markets and the finance industry
  • Practical experience in accounting-based software and tools
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to fund accounting/reporting within a superannuation environment
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Build client and service-related relationships, as well as develop strong internal relationships
