We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Northern Beaches Hospital. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients in acute care settings, including surgical, medical, critical care, emergency, maternity, paediatrics, and aged care.
You will work closely with Medical Officers and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide assessment and evidence-based treatment in a coordinated and timely manner. Your expertise will be essential in providing Social Work intervention to a wide variety of patients, including those with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-standard clinical care to patients in acute care settings
- Work in partnership with Medical Officers and other healthcare professionals to provide assessment and treatment
- Develop and implement Social Work interventions to meet the needs of patients
- Participate in the social work weekend on-call crisis roster
- Degree in Social Work and eligibility to the AASW
- Demonstrated experience working in an acute healthcare facility
- Highly developed social work assessment and counselling skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines, and complete activities within scope of practice
