Network Specialist Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Network Specialist. As part of this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our network.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support for accessing our networks, ensuring compliance with policies and National Electricity Rules. This will involve coordinating projects, developing training, and validating customer Switching Sheets for planned outages and maintenance.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Write, check, authorise, and distribute 'Switching Sheets' for planned and unplanned maintenance, repairs, and project work, ensuring compliance with policies, guidelines, procedures, instructions, and National Electricity Rules.
  • Validate customer Switching Sheets to ensure adherence to Powerlink, NER, and stakeholder requirements during planned outages.
  • Provide technical support for Network Access by updating policies and procedures, coordinating projects, and maintaining relevant data to minimise network downtime and ensure 24x7 operation of the Powerlink Transmission Network.
  • Monitor and maintain the HV Index to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, Engineering Quality Assurance policies and procedures, Circuitry Standards, and Powerlink Engineering Standards.
  • Liaise with other groups, operators, generators, customers, and maintenance service providers to consider their interests in matters where HV transmission outages impact their areas of jurisdiction, assets, workplace resources, supply quantity and reliability, and production levels.
  • Participate in the development of operational staff training and outage documentation to ensure continuous improvement of practices and procedures.
  • Engage in staff development programs to maintain and update your skills and competencies.
