About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to fill the role of Catering and Domestic Support Professional at Southern Cross Care Queensland.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a dual role, combining the responsibilities of a Catering Assistant and a Domestic Assistant. As a Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents, while as a Domestic Assistant, you will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, adhering to food safety and handling guidelines
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas
  • Assist with laundry services, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing
  • Assist with stock control and ordering of supplies
  • Comply with workplace health and safety policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hotel services role (desired)
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Flexibility with start time and days, including weekends
  • Good knowledge of food safety and handling practices
