Job Opportunity:

The Medical Scientist role is a key position requiring a highly motivated professional to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safe and appropriate use of therapies and lead scientific exchanges with medical and scientific communities.
  • Validate and set up cell therapy sites, improving clinical care for patients with cancer.
Scientific Expertise:
  • Provide external scientific expertise in therapy areas, healthcare landscapes, and data on therapies.
  • Partner with colleagues and serve as external medical affairs representative in cross-functional therapeutic teams.
  • Establish strategic relationships with external stakeholders at national levels.
  • Collaborate to develop and manage national thought leader engagement plans.
  • Represent the company at professional societies, academic & research centers, patient & advocacy groups, and scientific meetings.
  • Develop and present complex scientific and clinical data on medicines and related therapy areas.
  • Respond to clinical inquiries from healthcare professionals.
  • Support the development and execution of advisory programs and early access requests for registered therapies.
  • Discuss concepts and coordinate investigator-sponsored research proposals.
Site Validation and Setup:
  • Collaborate with field-based employees and head-office staff to support cell therapy sites nationally.
  • Participate in clinical operations and provide insights into investigator and site selection for trials.
  • Enhance clinical trial recruitment at sites and referral centers.
  • Implement defined goals and objectives aligned with indication strategic plans.
  • Train affiliate staff on therapy areas and data relating to medicines.
  • Adhere to Medicines Australia Code of Conduct Edition 20.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree preferred.
  • Therapeutic experience in haematology &/or cell therapy preferred.
  • Functional experience in field medical affairs required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills required.
  • Aptitude to understand complex issues and communicate findings to varying audiences.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to work with high level of autonomy and independence.
  • Adherence to regulatory, legal, and business conduct requirements.
  • Capacity to travel locally, nationally, and internationally when required.
