Job Description

Lifeguards play a critical role in ensuring public safety at Beatty Park Leisure Centre. The successful candidate will supervise public use of the facility, attend to first aid cases, conduct water tests, and participate in regular training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Public Safety: Supervise public use of the facility, respond to emergencies, and maintain a safe environment.
  • Programming: Set up and dismantle equipment for programs, ensuring safety and security.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers, adhering to the Council's Customer Service Charter.
  • Occupational Safety and Health: Maintain a clean and tidy work area, reducing the risk of accidents.

Requirements

  • A strong swimmer with endurance to perform rescue swims.
  • Previous experience working in a leisure centre environment is highly regarded.
  • Possession of Pool Lifeguard Award or equivalent certification.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate and Resuscitation Certificate with Oxygen Training.
  • A Pool Management Certificate is desirable but not essential.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate must be available to work a range of shifts, including weekends. We seek individuals who can demonstrate initiative, build effective relationships, and provide excellent customer service.
