Counselling and Welfare Services Leader

As a key member of the Student Wellbeing Department, you will play a pivotal role in championing the health, safety and overall wellbeing of students. From short-term support to crisis intervention, our services span all campuses to ensure students have access to care when they need it most.
The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership in the development and delivery of high-quality clinical counselling and welfare assistance to support student wellbeing and success. You will oversee the counselling and welfare services provided to students, manage a team of qualified professionals, and collaborate with other departments to create a supportive and inclusive campus environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement student wellbeing strategies and programs through a team of qualified counsellors and welfare officers.
- Drive cultural change by building positive relationships and networks within and external to the Institute.
- Provide authoritative mental health information, advice and direction to stakeholders across the Institute.
- Manage the operations of the counselling and welfare teams to support the achievement of Institute objectives.
- Develop and deliver psychosocial, emotional intelligence, mental health literacy, team building and resilience programs to students.
