A high-level position available in bioinformatics services and activities is seeking a candidate with leadership skills to manage projects and deliver outcomes that align with the service offerings. The role will operate with a degree of autonomy and involve designing, overseeing, and improving methodologies in collaboration with the team.
About Us

We are a network of national facilities providing plant synthetic biology infrastructure and expertise to drive accelerated gains in agricultural productivity and development of new products through environmentally sustainable bio-manufacturing. Our Adelaide node enables plant synthetic biology services for agricultural crops and synthetic biology projects in model plants, providing infrastructure and expertise as well as incubation space for the start-up community and opportunities to collaborate.


Qualifications and Requirements
  • A Master of Bioinformatics or similar qualification in biological sciences.
  • Experience in High Performance Computing environments and fluency in programming languages such as R, Python, Perl, etc.
  • Evidence of high-quality publications including bioinformatics analyses such as genomics, transcriptomics, and protein structural modelling.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders through technical services.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership to improve performance, establish a harmonious working environment, and maintain an outcome-based focus.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in analysing genomic architecture of simple and complex traits, metabolic pathway modelling, sgRNA design, and machine learning would be beneficial.
