The WHS Systems Compliance Specialist will play a key role in supporting the Systems & Construction Support Manager in the development, delivery, and ongoing maintenance of the Company Management System (including Quality, Safety, and Environmental aspects). This specialist will ensure the system's compliance with current legislation, regulations, and industry standards, while also contributing to the overall safety culture of our company.

This role requires a proactive individual with strong knowledge and experience in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Environmental Management, particularly within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the Company Management System, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the system to meet legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure adherence to Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and report on health, safety, and environmental performance across multiple project sites.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on OHS and Environmental practices, ensuring effective communication of procedures and policies.
  • Organise and deliver safety and environmental training programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to safety and environmental management, including audits and inspections.
  • Manage system updates, ensuring all documentation is current, relevant, and accessible.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports for senior management and external stakeholders as needed.

The ideal candidate will have formal qualifications in Environmental Science / Management and previous experience or tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety. A Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training is essential, and Senior First Aid certification and an OH&S Induction Card are desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely are also required.
