The Opportunity

  • We are seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to join our Sustainable Futures team, working with a team passionate about delivering great outcomes for our communities and planet.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing community engagement services on various state-wide infrastructure projects based in Hobart.
  • Key responsibilities include engaging with community stakeholders, and our clients, undertaking field-based engagement activities, such as organizing town-hall meetings, undertaking household visits, and developing tailored engagement strategies to support our clients.

What You Bring

  • 2-5 years of experience working in stakeholder engagement, community participation, communication, or similar roles.
  • Experience in community stakeholder engagement methods and tools.
  • Good understanding of community social risks and impacts in the context of infrastructure project design and implementation.
  • Ability to communicate in person with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent people skills with advanced listening skills.
  • Excellent ability to develop written materials for stakeholder engagement and write reports.
  • Working understanding of digital community stakeholder engagement tools.
  • Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office suite of products and using collaboration tools.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
  • Understanding of social mapping and assessment of communities.
