Job Description:

  • As a specialist in child development and family therapy, we are seeking an experienced professional to join our multidisciplinary team of Play Therapists, Art Therapists, and Mental Health Social Workers. This role involves providing individual and family-based play therapy and counselling to support the emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs of children and young people.
  • Our ideal candidate will have a strong ability to build rapport with clients of all ages and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also be able to work collaboratively within a team environment and participate in regular supervision and professional development to ensure best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and families in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualised treatment plans and goals, working closely with parents, caregivers, and other professionals as needed.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and client records in accordance with professional standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with evidence-based practice and advances in the field.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as Mental Health Social Work or Psychology, and registration as a Mental Health Social Worker or equivalent.
  • Membership with a relevant professional association is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing therapeutic interventions to children, young people, and families, with a strong understanding of child development and neurodiversity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
