Job Overview

This position involves conducting essential analytical tests on geological and metallurgical samples, ensuring operational efficiency, grade control, and environmental compliance.

You will work in a fast-paced laboratory setting, contributing to critical decision-making processes. Key responsibilities include sample preparation, chemical analysis, quality control and assurance, data management, safety, environment, maintenance, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Preparation: Receive, log, crush, pulverize, and split various samples to ensure accuracy and traceability.
  • Chemical Analysis: Conduct analytical tests using techniques such as XRF.
  • Quality Control & Assurance (QA/QC): Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures, interpret data, and ensure analytical integrity.
  • Data Management: Accurately record results in LIMS or spreadsheets and assist with reporting.
  • Safety & Environment: Adhere to site safety protocols, maintain a clean workspace, and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with geologists, metallurgists, and operational teams.
Requirements
  • Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Laboratory Technician, ideally within a mine site or similar industrial laboratory.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and adaptability to rotating shifts.
  • Physical requirements: capable of performing duties that include lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in varying temperatures.
