We are seeking a skilled Cultural Practice Advisor to join our team and work collaboratively with children and families to provide culturally safe and appropriate child protection services.

The successful candidate will engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to understand their traditions and customs, ensuring that the safety needs of children are prioritized.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working in a collaborative environment and providing high-quality cultural advice to inform decisions about the safety needs of children.

The ideal candidate will have personal experience and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions and customs, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

They will also be able to effectively engage with children, families, carers, and service providers, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised casework supports to children and families, including facilitation of positive family connection and reunification.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to establish and strengthen safety and support networks.
  • Provide high quality cultural advice and direction to inform decisions about the safety needs of children.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
