Job Title: Court Services Officer - Supporting Justice and Community

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Court Services Officer. This exciting role offers an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of court users, supporting them through support and empathy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for the efficient operation of our registries, offering frontline services to court users daily, and responding to their needs with trauma-aware and compassionate service. Key duties include preparing courtrooms for sittings, making proclamations at court openings, adjourning, resuming, and closing, administering oaths and affirmations, maintaining security and control of jurors, distributing exhibits and documents, testing courtroom technology, recognising and escalating risks related to Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) and anti-social behaviours, and supporting Magistrates and providing procedural assistance to court users.

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in using digital tools accurately. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills, stay updated, and seek feedback to contribute to process improvements. Additionally, you will be required to fulfill statutory duties as a Justice of the Peace, Clerk of the Court, or Registrar if required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support for the efficient operation of our registries.
  • Offer frontline services to court users daily, responding to their needs with trauma-aware and compassionate service.
  • Prepare courtrooms for sittings.
