Job Description

We are seeking an experienced senior project manager to lead our defence engineering projects. As a key member of the team, you will oversee technical outcomes and ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Plan and manage technical aspects of projects, ensuring outcomes meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Team Management: Lead and motivate project teams, allocating resources effectively and driving delivery against project milestones.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and delivered.
  • Project Controls: Manage project planning, scheduling, risk, change, earned value metrics, and financial reporting.
  • Engineering Integration: Translate customer requirements into system-level solutions, applying systems engineering methods across hardware and software integration.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Review, approve, and produce clear technical documentation and project reports that meet both company and customer standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive new design approaches, process improvements, and quality enhancements to support ongoing program delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Project Management Expertise:

  • Demonstrated success delivering complex technical projects in a defence environment.

Systems Engineering Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles across hardware/software development, integration, and verification.

Leadership & Communication:

  • Excellent team leadership and communication skills, with the ability to represent the company at senior levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Science, or related technical degree.

Security Clearance:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen and hold or be eligible for an Australian Security Clearance (minimum NV1).
