
Production Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Production Management Specialist to join our team based at Osborne Naval Shipyard in New South Wales. This role reports directly to the Mechanical Superintendent and involves overseeing manufacturing delivery activities to ensure they are cost-effective, resource-efficient, and meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a thriving sector where we produce innovative technology. As a Visible Leader, you will collaborate across teams and leadership levels to drive operational excellence and meet stakeholder and customer expectations.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with SHE, Quality, Regulatory, and Contractual requirements, mitigating risks and improving performance.
- Driving continuous improvement, optimizing technical, schedule, and cost efficiencies.
- Leading team performance, development, and collaboration, ensuring effective work allocation and feedback.
- Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, proactively managing concerns and grievances.
- Delivering clear and consistent communication, ensuring effective information flow and issue resolution.
- Planning and managing labour, budgets, and production outputs, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Implementing resource planning and organizational change, shaping departmental objectives.
- Promoting a positive work environment, fostering employee engagement and professional growth.
- Leading by example, ensuring a safe working environment through effective risk management and training.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Cert III Mechanical Engineering - Trade or Associate Diploma.
- Experience supervising small teams in a complex manufacturing environment.
- A strong background in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and manufacturing processes.
- Broad knowledge of complex manufacturing operations and industry best practices.
