Rehabilitation Specialist

Job Overview:

Mater Health is seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Specialist to provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical care and advice to patients requiring rehabilitation in consultation with the Rehabilitation Consultant.
  • Conduct patient interviews, examinations, investigations, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and discharge planning.
  • Participate in after-hours cover, quality and safety programs, and professional development.
  • Contribute to audit and quality improvement activities.
  • Uphold professional behaviour aligned with Mater values and maintain patient confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • Holds registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Queensland.
  • Is a current registrar trainee with the Australian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM).
  • Demonstrates strong communication, clinical decision-making and teamwork skills.
  • Values professional conduct, patient dignity, and holistic care.
  • Understands and adheres to hospital policies and infection control standards.
  • Commitment to ethical medical practice and continuous learning.
