Head Squad Coach Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced squad coach to join our team on a part-time basis at Mounties Health & Fitness, Mount Pritchard.

This role is responsible for designing and implementing competitive squad training programs, facilitating athlete pathways to regional, state, and national competitions, collaborating with the swimming committee and stakeholders, planning, coordinating, and evaluating the squad program to meet business objectives, developing junior coaches professionally, managing meet attendance and the Season Calendar.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for mentoring and coaching, and be committed to developing a successful swimming program by working with community bodies, parents, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-performance squad training programs that cater to the needs of diverse athletes.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including swimmers, coaches, and sponsors.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and support staff to ensure cohesive team performance.
  • Identify and develop emerging talent, providing opportunities for growth and development.
  • Lead and manage squads during meets, ensuring athletes perform to their best ability.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of swimming programs that align with organizational goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in competitive squad environments, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with athletes, coaches, and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Current ASCTA Silver or Advanced Licence, or equivalent.
  • Working with Children's Check, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
  • Flexible availability, including days, nights, and weekends.
