At the Archdiocese of Brisbane, we are seeking a highly skilled Parish Development Coordinator to support our vibrant parish community.

We offer a competitive salary of $75,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

The Parish Development Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating various pastoral activities and programs, working closely with the Parish Priest and other staff members.

  • Coordinate Baptism Preparation Meetings: Ensure support and guidance for families during baptism preparation meetings.
  • Enhance Parish Community Engagement: Collaborate with the Parish Priest and other staff to enhance parish community engagement and support.
  • Oversee Ministers of the Word and Eucharist: Oversee the coordination of Ministers of the Word and Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, including roster management and training.
  • Liturgical Seasons and Events: Identify and celebrate key liturgical seasons and community-building events throughout the year.
  • Musical Initiatives: Work with Music Ministry leaders to grow and develop music initiatives across worshipping communities.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with Archdiocesan Mandatory Training, copyright, and privacy obligations, maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all parishioners.

Key Responsibilities

As a Parish Development Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and implementing initiatives to enhance parish life and spirituality.
  2. Collaborating with the Parish Priest and other staff to achieve parish goals and objectives.
  3. Maintaining accurate records and reports, as required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of Catholic theology and practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small team.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in theology, spirituality, religious education, or a willingness to undertake formal training.
