Expense Management Specialist

This role is part of the Finance Function in a team responsible for delivering strong expense management, capability uplift and financial control through adherence to policies, processes and standards. The specialist will provide financial insights and advice to help business leaders achieve target outcomes and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

The Expense Management team performs various activities including month end close, forecasting, analytics and investment management and partnering. The team delivers services for Group Functions, Lines of Business (LOB), Divisions and the Group. The specialist will support the Director, Expense Management to enhance expense management services across the financial management cycle and partner with key stakeholders to empower the group to deliver on cost accountabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver timely, accurate and insightful management reporting to Group Executives, General Managers and relevant business partners
  • Rationalise and automate material entries to support earlier close of results
  • Improve transparency and efficiency in cost attribution and allocation processes
  • Support risk management and financial control requirements in line with all financial standards, policies, frameworks and standards
  • Standardise, simplify and automate report production processes into digital solutions
  • Enhance monthly cost drivers and linkages to financials
  • Prepare standard analytics and insights for performance management and accountability
  • Contribute to the production of corporate reporting and preparation of divisional and Group expense disclosures

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in financial management and the financial services industry, as well as professional accounting qualifications completed. They will possess solid understanding of technical finance & accounting competencies and ability to effectively influence, negotiate and manage expectations with peers and senior team members.
