Savanna Carbon Management Professional

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Savanna Carbon Management Professional to join our team at nrmjobs.com.au in the Kimberley Region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding opportunities for Aboriginal Corporations to engage in the carbon economy, as well as supporting existing project proponents as their projects mature. This role will involve capacity building, commercial negotiations, stakeholder/partnership management, grant administration, and strategic direction of the KLC's Carbon program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the development of systems and processes for consistent delivery frameworks for project development and management
- Overseeing carbon project management, including compliance, CER offset reporting, and engagement of auditors
- Building the capacity of Kimberley Aboriginal Corporations in carbon management through close collaboration with PBCs and regular presentations at relevant meetings
- Facilitating regional collaboration within the sector
- Stakeholder management, strengthening the KLC's network of effective external partnerships
- Financial, grant, and project administration, and reporting to deadlines and partner requirements
- Developing resources and materials to build the capacity of Kimberley Aboriginal Corporations in carbon management
- Enabling Indigenous carbon project proponents to establish, manage, and strengthen mutually beneficial commercial partnerships
- Supporting industry development and regional collaborations for the benefit of Indigenous people
Benefits:
- A competitive market salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, plus salary packaging benefits, District Allowance, rental/mortgage assistance where applicable, and 5 weeks' annual leave

Requirements:
- Commercial acumen and awareness of commercial implications related to Indigenous cultural and intellectual property
- Proven effectiveness in stakeholder engagement and management, ideally in a cross-cultural context and related to the carbon industry
- Experience in contract management and product knowledge leveraging for Traditional Owners
- Excellent communication, liaison, negotiation, and facilitation skills, with a capacity to establish and maintain internal and external networks
- Familiarity with QGIS or ArcGIS or ability to learn
- Experience in quality assurance and quality control in a regulated environment
- Project management skills and ability to set direction to achieve deliverables
- Commitment to empowering Indigenous peoples and fostering good working relationships with Kimberley Aboriginal people
- Ability to take ownership and show initiative, leveraging judgment on priorities and issues
- Attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement
- Working knowledge of financial/budget management
- Conflict resolution skills and ability to manage complex issues effectively
- Three years supervisory experience in a related role
- Current valid drivers license and Working with Children's Check (WCC)
