Job Summary:

The ACT Education Directorate is seeking a highly skilled Business Manager to join our school leadership team at Jervis Bay School. As a key member of the school community, the Business Manager will play a vital role in supporting our students and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic planning and financial management support to the school Principal and leadership team.
  • Oversee the operations of the school business, ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements and ACT Education Directorate policies.
  • Lead and manage support and administration staff to meet business objectives and priorities.
  • Develop and implement school-based procedures and work practices to improve service delivery.
  • Monitor workflow and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including students, families, and community members, to build strong relationships and promote a positive school culture.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Principal on business matters, including financial management, human resources, and facilities management.

Requirements:

  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
  • Asbestos awareness card or willingness to obtain.
  • Qualification or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (highly desirable).
  • Experience in a business-related role and financial qualifications and/or relevant experience (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of Xero and Sentral systems (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (highly desirable).
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake appropriate training (highly desirable).
  • Commitment to a high level of cultural integrity and cultural competency.
