Scientific Director

As a Principal Researcher, you will spearhead scientific research and development in the forest industries.
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate, lead, and participate in collaborative projects at state, national, and international levels on wood-based composites, forest product manufacture, performance testing, preservation, and protection system development.
- Provide high-level expertise and build knowledge in wood science, focusing on wood-based composite manufacture, mechanical performances, bio-deterioration, material protection, wood preservation, protection, and product durability.
- Identify emerging trends, technologies, and investment opportunities for sustainable forest industries amidst competing land uses, climate variability, and change.
- Drive industry adoption of new technologies and practices, providing solutions and innovative products for sustainable forest resources and timber processing enterprises in Queensland.
- Develop high-quality publications, reports, and technical papers, delivering presentations at conferences and industry forums.
- Manage projects efficiently through budget planning, resource allocation, and adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
- Create a collaborative environment that encourages sharing and effective utilization of knowledge within multidisciplinary teams.
- Supervise, train, and manage staff within multidisciplinary teams or work independently as required.
