Operational Manager

About the Role
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily canteen operations, ensuring seamless execution of services.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team to deliver exceptional service standards.
  • Oversee the preparation, assembly, and presentation of food items in accordance with food safety protocols.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene across all service areas.
  • Coordinate the online ordering system, resolving queries and managing menu availability.
  • Ensure accurate stock levels, order supplies, and conduct regular stocktakes.
  • Collaborate with distributors to maintain relationships and meet supply needs.
  • Pack lunch orders efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage parent and community volunteers, providing supervision and support.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders, including staff, students, parents, and volunteers.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with senior management and other departments.
  • Verify that all volunteers complete mandatory training and certifications.
  • Comply with local regulations and health standards, ensuring readiness for audits and inspections.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in canteen or food service management.
  • A proactive attitude and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools, such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with kiosk systems is an asset.
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • RRHAN-EC Fundamentals & Masterclass Certificate.
  • Ongoing Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and First Aid in an Education and Care Setting certification.
