Job Summary:
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Business Action Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Plastics Initiative, you will be responsible for leading a team to develop and implement strategies to reduce plastic waste and pollution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Develop and refine the strategy for the Business Action pillar, understanding the broader business and packaging circularity context and trends to set direction and activate the business network for maximum impact.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with businesses in the network, supporting and challenging them on their ambition and action.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of approximately 5 to be a thriving, high-performing team in an ever-changing external environment.
- Programme Delivery: Lead the team to deliver the Business Action strategy, facilitating collaborative projects, hosting workshops, developing industry-leading perspectives, and reporting on progress.
- External Representation: Represent the Foundation at key events, with partners, and with the media to promote circular economy solutions and their relevance for key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in roles working with and influencing corporates, including at senior management level.
- Ability to influence large businesses and use the right mix of challenge, support, and inspiration to drive impact while strengthening relationships.
- Significant experience in plastic packaging and associated circular economy opportunities and challenges.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as experience in group facilitation and workshop design.
- Proven ability to develop and motivate teams in an ever-changing external environment, with teams spread across different locations, including remote.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with experience structuring complex problems and applying a hypothesis-based approach to solving them.
- Experience managing programmes and workload to deliver successful outcomes and meet time-critical milestones.
