Environmental Planner - Renewable Energy Specialist

Overview

this is an exciting opportunity for a skilled environmental planner to join our high-performing environment & planning team within a global law firm

our nationally and globally integrated group works on advisory transactional and contentious matters related to climate change sustainability and greenwashing risk

you will work with major clients on environment and planning approvals environmental prosecutions and compulsory acquisitions as well as support renewable energy and infrastructure projects including wind solar and data centre developments

your responsibilities will also include assisting with strategic climate change matters such as directors duties and advising on environmental markets like carbon credits and biodiversity schemes

Key Responsibilities:
  • advise clients on environmental approvals prosecution and compulsory acquisition procedures
  • support on renewable energy and infrastructure projects across various sectors
  • assist with climate change initiatives including directors duties and greenwashing risks
  • work on disputes and precedent-setting cases in courts
  • provide expert advice on environmental markets and regulatory frameworks
Requirements:
  • 1–4 years pqe with a focus on environment planning climate change or major projects
  • experience in a leading firm government regulator or boutique law firm
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
