Senior Infection Prevention Officer Role

This is a highly sought-after position within our organization's Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team.

About the Job

The IPC team supports the implementation of various national standards and initiatives, including the National Safety and Quality Health Service Preventing and Controlling Infections Standard and the National Hand Hygiene Initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • We are seeking a skilled Senior Project Officer to develop resources to support the implementation of these standards.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for implementing the Australian Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare.
  • In addition to these key responsibilities, the officer will contribute to other activities supporting the IPC program, including research and analysis, project management, policy development, stakeholder management, and documentation preparation.
Requirements
  • A working knowledge of infection prevention and control principles in acute care, primary and community care, or aged care settings is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering wide-reaching infection prevention and control projects, from content development through to information dissemination.
  • Experience in policy and guideline development at a state or national level, relevant to infection prevention and control, safety and quality, clinical governance, or related areas is highly desirable.
  • A high-level research and analytical skillset, sound decision-making skills, and professional judgment are also required.
  • The successful candidate will possess highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate complex information to a variety of audiences in written and oral formats and consult with stakeholders.
