The Welding Capability Lead is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the welding capability management plan. This involves ensuring that the welding activities of suppliers meet contracted quality standards across current and future builds.

Key responsibilities include developing, documenting, and implementing welding processes, as well as conducting audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and codes. The role also involves providing guidance on best practice weld management, identifying appropriate corrective actions to resolve root causes of weld defects, and overseeing the validation of supplier welding tests and inspections.

Role Requirements:

  • Diploma or higher qualification in welding engineering, non-destructive testing, or a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a lead role in a welding operation
  • Detailed knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment
  • In-depth understanding of industry standards and codes
  • Proficiency in welding software and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
