Job Overview

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our manufacturing equipment.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for managing regular and breakdown maintenance of manufacturing equipment. This includes coordinating external vendor and contractor works, recording daily activities, and maintaining accurate record-keeping in Maintenance Registers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage regular and breakdown maintenance of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize delays.
  • Coordinate external vendor and contractor works, recording daily activities for the maintenance department.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping in Maintenance Registers (Excel or Smartsheet).
  • Prepare workloads, distributing tasks, projects, and activities among maintenance team members based on ability and shift presence.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel have prepared workloads/tasks before shift commencement.
  • Optimize repair schedules, reviewing costs for all assets.
  • Contribute to planning, managing, and controlling maintenance budgets.
  • Provide detailed month-end reports on repair and maintenance costs against machinery/equipment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Engineering or higher.
  • Good electrical knowledge and an Electrical license (Disconnect Reconnect) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Reo experience (desirable but not essential).

Quality Assurance

You will be responsible for establishing a high degree of quality awareness, ensuring accuracy in documentation, schedules, and communication. This includes monitoring quality performance according to company procedures and contractual obligations, identifying opportunities for quality improvements throughout business development and project management.

Project Coordination

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will also be involved in managing specialist projects involving equipment rearrangements, restructures, or movements. You will collaborate with management and WHS teams on wholesale risk prevention and safety initiatives, provide feedback and insights on proposed production processes and workflows, and assist with hazard management and identification, developing training tools for a safe working environment.

Innovation

Finally, you will be expected to improve equipment performance and processes, ensuring optimal equipment performance and troubleshooting basic system errors. You will also advise recovery solutions and develop new techniques for repairing/installing equipment.
