Key Responsibilities
  • Commission, repair, and maintain plant machinery and equipment, including certified testing units, torque drivers, sealing tools, conveyors, compressors, and other miscellaneous production equipment.
  • Set up and operate maintenance-related equipment and hand tools safely, including welders, milling, lathe, drill press, grinder, hand tools, and other metalworking equipment.
  • Manage maintenance tasks through the use of SAP or similar programs, performing work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Repair or replace devices such as pneumatic hand tools, jigs, and fixtures, mechanical presses, and other equipment as needed.
  • Conduct repair and maintenance works to the site facility, including minor carpentry, painting, and plumbing maintenance work.
  • Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment and tooling.
  • Provide knowledge and opinion on mechanical components throughout associated projects.
  • Assist in the management of contractors in the service and repair of plant equipment and processes.
  • Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs, ensuring all work and equipment meet OH&S and MSDS requirements.
  • Support the engineering department in facility projects, including plant layouts, security systems, fire systems, and cleaning.
  • Assist in the drive for continuous improvement in critical areas such as safety and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain awareness of identified and potential health and safety, quality, and environmental aspects within the workplace and their impact, including the reporting of any accidents/incidents/near misses or hazards.

  • Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.

  • Improved number of breakdowns.
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (E.E.).
  • Maintenance completed on time according to documented schedules.
Professional Experience
  • Have at least 5 years of experience with pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair.
  • Proven experience as a Fabricator or similar role in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication.
  • Understanding of computing systems, including online parts catalogues and SAP.
Qualifications and Additional Requirements
  • Relevant trade certificates and qualifications as a Fabricator, Welder, or Boilermaker.
  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Forklift and scissor lift license preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and electronic components is an advantage but not essential.
